Lots of bits and pieces that I wish were not there.

Had an old Mercedes that went that way. You can drive it ‘til it drops, but have a working cell phone and a network of friends who can come get you.

Are you sure you the drain pan was clean before?

Yes I’m very diligent about that sort of thing. I even stopped draining, wiped it out again, resumed draining, and got the same result

That’s my plan. Got any money for a new car? :(

Bummer good luck with whatever you do

You need to put those back in there. Your engine won't last forever if you keep taking small metal parts out. Pretty soon you won't have an engine.

I heard that if you add bananas to the oil it will fix this...or maybe it was Marvel Mystery Oil....

Not good, not good. At least you have time to prepare for the inevitable.

That seems fine. Those are just the coating they put on all the parts for the shipping across the ocean flaking off. Nothing to worry about.

Is that the end of a 3.0 Duratec? Mine looked like that but with a lot bigger pieces of bearings. Sparkles /= happiness

Oh I hear you. But you can start watching CL or car-part.com for a nearby used engine for cheap, or a used car cheap, or something. Having the luxury of time means you can keep your eyes open for a bargain. You know it’s coming soon, but it’s not dead yet...

Si! Duratec. Really too bad. We are trying to get 250k miles out of this thing.

I roasted the one in a Mazda 6 (Same block VVT heads). The piston slap was bad. Run it till it knocks so loud you cant hear the stereo. I knew mine was dying and got another 15k off it.

not true. He’ll have an engine, it just won’t be in the car...or assembled.
